The Luís de Camões University Residence is part of Coimbra’s student housing development programme and has reached a key stage in its implementation, marked by the sequential assembly of the CLT (Cross Laminated Timber) structure.
Site images illustrate the installation of vertical and horizontal structural panels using cranes, ensuring a high level of execution precision and controlled progress. The clear definition of levels, openings and internal layout reflects the high degree of planning and prefabrication inherent to the construction system.
The works also highlight the careful integration between the new timber structure and the existing built fabric, ensuring structural compatibility and respect for the urban context. Vertical progression, supported by perimeter scaffolding, allows for a safe and rigorous execution process.
The construction works are being carried out by ABA, with CarmoForm responsible for the engineering and execution of the CLT structure, placing its timber construction expertise at the service of a high-occupancy building where precision, durability and environmental performance are essential.
